The Intertestamental Period
The last book of the Old Testament can be dated to the 5th century BCE and the first book of the New Testament to the 1st century CE. What happened between these two testaments? How did Judaism evolve during that time? The EBS fall online session on Saturday 22 November is an ideal opportunity to learn about the intertestamental period. How did this period shape the world Jesus lived in? How does insight into this period help us read the New Testament with more understanding? We will explore over four centuries of Judaism from political, literary and spiritual perspectives in order to better understand the context of the New Testament and Jesus’ teachings. Classes will be taught be Malcolm Cox and Louis Le Noan.
Real-time translation will be provided into French and German. Fellowship break-out rooms will be open during the lunch break. Other languages could be possible if there is sufficient demand. Please contact the EBS organisers if you would like to provide translation in another language. Registration deadline: 20 November 2025
